Miriam, Yeshua, and his disciples depart for Jerusalem as Yeshua wishes to attend the Passover there. To save time, they pass through Samaria rather than detouring around it as was common practice. They stop at the never-failing well, known as “Jacob’s Well,” where Yeshua asks a Samaritan woman for a drink of water. She is quite surprised to be asked such a thing by a Hebrew, for the Hebrews and Samaritans did not commingle. After a series of questions and answers, which astounds the woman, Miriam encourages her to tell the townspeople what Yeshua has told her and ask them to return to the well to hear him speak. When the townspeople gather, Yeshua makes the well run dry and then creates a great geyser of water that shoots up from the well to show the power of Elohim and to warn them to stop living in enmity with those who should be their brothers and sisters.

1 And it came to pass that upon the following day, Yeshua and his disciples and Miriam, his wife, departed for Jerusalem, because Yeshua desired to attend the Passover there.
2 As they traveled, Cephas asked him, “How is it that you came to call Philip to be your disciple before you called me? Did I do something to offend you that you would not think to call me first?”
3 Yeshua answered him, “They who are first shall be last, and they who are last shall be first. In my kingdom, those who serve are the kings, and those who desire to be the kings shall be the servants.
4 It matters not who was called first or who last, for as in the days of Noah, all should be overjoyed simply to be upon the ark.”
5 Because Passover was approaching soon, Yeshua chose a more direct route to Jerusalem that passed through Samaria rather than detouring around it as was the common practice of the Hebrews.
6 They passed close to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
7 The never-failing well of Jacob was there, and Yeshua and everyone with him were glad to stop and rest for they were tired from their journey.
8 There was a woman of Samaria at the well, and for the sake of the Apostles’ understanding, Yeshua came to her and asked, “Would you give a drink of water to me?”
9 The woman was startled by his request and asked him, “How is it that you being a Hebrew asks a drink from me; a woman of Samaria? Your kind have no dealings with Samaritans.”
10 Yeshua answered and said unto her, “A Hebrew I was born, but that is not who I am. Nor have I come only for the Hebrews, but also for the Samaritans and all the children of the world.
11 Though I bring the light first to the Hebrews because of their fathers, I do not withhold it from others because of theirs.
12 I know your heart, woman of Samaria, and I know it is kind. Look now to your heart, for if you find the spirit of God, you will know who it is that asks a sip of water from you.
13 So also will you know that if you ask of me, you can be given a greater gift, even of living water.”
14 The woman of Samaria said unto him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw water with, and the well is deep. I have come here all of my life, and the water is always the same. Where then would you draw water that is different than that which has always been?
15 Living water sounds wonderful, but are you greater than our father Jacob who gave us this well and drank from it himself, and his children and his cattle?”
16 Yeshua answered and said unto her, “Before Jacob was; I was.
17 Whosoever drinks of the water of this well shall thirst again.
18 But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give shall never thirst again, for they shall drink of living water that springs up into everlasting life.”
19 The woman folded her hands together and said unto him, “Sir, please give me some of this water that I may not thirst or have to come again to this well to draw my water.”
20 Yeshua said unto her, “Go, call your husband and come here.”
21 The woman shrugged, “I have no husband.”
22 “You have well said that you have no husband,” Yeshua replied, “For you have had five husbands; and the man you live with now is not your husband, so you have spoken true to say you have no husband.”
23 The woman was astounded that he knew of her life, and she questioned him, “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. Our fathers worshipped on this mountain, but those in Judah say that Jerusalem is the place where men should worship. What do you say?”
24 Yeshua answered her, saying, “Woman, be it on this mountain or at Jerusalem, the hour soon comes when none shall worship at either place, for they will be left desolate.
25 If either place was so holy as the vain do imagine, think you that God would allow its desolation?
26 Verily, I say unto you that you worship the Father whom you know not, even as those in Jerusalem worship the Father whom they know not.
27 But the hour is coming when true believers shall worship Elohim in truth and light. And it is not by the place that they worship that they shall be edified, nor by the manner in which they worship, but by the truth in their heart, the light of their mind, and the deeds of their lives.
28 Verily, Elohim is a Father and a Mother and a Child.
29 The spirit of Elohim is everywhere, even in the heart of those that believe.
30 If you would truly worship God, then you must find the Father and Mother and Son within you.
31 And in spirit and truth must Elohim be worshipped. And by the spirit of Elohim shall the hearts of the faithful be guided in truth and light.”
32 Then the woman said to him, “I know the Anointed One is coming. When he comes, he will tell us all things.”
33 Yeshua responded to her plainly, saying, “I am he.”
34 His disciples marveled that he spoke thus to a woman of Samaria and gave unto her such great pearls of knowledge. Yet not one of them asked, “What are you doing?” or “Why are you speaking thus with her?”
35 Then Miriam came up to the woman of Samaria and told her, “You have found favor of my husband. Go to your town and tell the people what he has spoken to you, that they may come and hear the words of Yeshua as well.”
36 Straightway the woman departed, leaving her bucket at the well, and went and told the people of Sychar how Yeshua had spoken great things to her and how he knew the hidden secrets of her life.
37 And it came to pass that many of the people of the town came out to the well to hear the words of Yeshua.
38 Before the people of the town arrived, Cephas asked the disciples if anyone had given Yeshua anything to eat. And Yeshua, hearing his words, said unto them, “I have food to eat that you know not of.”
39 Hearing this, the disciples looked among themselves in confusion, for none had given him anything to eat. And Yeshua said unto them, “My food is to do the will of my Father and Mother, who have sent me. I have come to fill the world, not to be filled by it.”
40 The disciples nodded as if in understanding, but Yeshua knew they still did not understand. And he said unto them, “Do you not say, ‘Two more hours then our nets will be full?’ Did I not say I would make you fishers of men? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the nets! They are full and overflowing. Wherever you cast your nets, the fish await.
41 “Do you not say, ‘Four months more and then the harvest?’ I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest today. Even now, the good reaper draws his wages. Even now, he harvests the crop for eternal life so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together.
42 Thus the saying ‘one sows and another reaps’ is true, for I send you to reap that which I have sown.
43 Even more, learn from me, that you might come to be both a sower and a reaper, that the fields of Elohim may be planted and harvested in abundance.”
44 Turning then to the people of Samaria that had come to the well, Yeshua said unto them, “You revere your holy mountain, even as the Hebrews revere Jerusalem. Certainly, hallowed ground should be revered.
45 Yet you hate them for their belief and they hate you for yours, and I say unto you that you both do err, for the God of your fathers is the same as the God of their fathers, and all the world is a temple of God.
46 Even as a shepherd watches over his flock and goes to them where he is needed, so does the God of your fathers go to his children wherever they may need him.
47 Be it upon this mountain or in Jerusalem or anywhere upon this Earth, wherever the virtuous and faithful are, there Elohim is also.
48 Today, this is sacred ground; tomorrow, it can be desolate. Even now Jacob’s Well has run dry. What does that mean?”
49 At the startling announcement that the well that never fails had run dry, some who were listening ridiculed Yeshua, but others leaped up with concern and went to the well.
50 A Samaritan threw a small rock down into the well, and then turned to his friends in horror saying, “It is true. The stone hit upon stone at the bottom of the well. There is no water!”
51 At this shocking surprise everyone leaped to their feet in great anger, some screaming at Yeshua, “You have cursed our land.”
52 Several men came toward Yeshua menacingly to grab a hold of him, but Yeshua put his hand out toward them and, with a voice of thunder, said, “Stop, cease your foolishness. Even as the power of Elohim can take away the water, so can it be restored.”
53 Yeshua stomped his foot solidly once upon the ground, and there was a mighty tremble like an earthquake. Then a rushing sound came from the well, and suddenly, a great geyser of water shot up into the air far over their heads and rained down upon them. And the people marveled, for such a thing had never been known to occur in all the history of Jacob’s Well.
54 After a few minutes the geyser ceased and the well became placid again, but the people and his disciples all looked upon Yeshua with amazement and awe, and he said unto them, “You will not see my face again upon this land, but remember the lessons of the water this day.
55 Your people have lived on this land for the passing of many generations. But if you continue to live in enmity with those who should be your brothers, the lines of your blood shall wither and disappear until there are Samaritans no more, even as the well that never fails did run dry.
56 But like the geyser, the power of God manifests where it will to serve the purposes of Elohim, in the time and place that Elohim chooses, not man.
57 Therefore, do not rest your faith upon a spot of land or a city or the laws handed down by your ancestors, for all of these things can be laid waste.
58 But let your faith rest upon the sure principles of Celestine Light that are the true words of Elohim that speak to your hearts, for they are the same words for every people, be they of Judah or Samaria or a Gentile from any land.
59 Verily, the words of Elohim that are the same for every people begin with these: Love God with all of your heart, and love your neighbor as yourself.”
