Conversation at the Wadi

CHAPTER 27

Yeshua, Miriam, Yochanan, Lazarus, and Kudar-Iluna gather in a circle beneath the full moon and share an in-depth conversation. Yochanan and Yeshua speak somewhat about the unusual circumstances of their births and some of their experiences together while at the community of Gimron, and Miriam relates some of the unusual occurrences with Yeshua that she has witnessed. Through their prayers and experiences, Yochanan and Yeshua have come to know a great deal about each other and their destinies, but both are still seeking to know the fullness of their callings and themselves.

 1 After another day of difficult travel across the barren Red Desert, they came to a Wadi sitting beside the brook that marked the boundary into the Sinai wilderness of Egypt.

 2 When the coolness of the night fell upon them, they gathered together as friends, sitting in a circle on the cooling desert sand beneath the light of a full moon, and began a conversation of great depth.

 3 Kudar-Iluna walked over to sit with them, but Lazarus forbade him as he was still rankled that he had been among the thieves that had attacked their caravan. But Yeshua knew the heart of Kudar-Iluna had been changed from darkness to light and said, “This man is not of the Children of Israel, but he is now of the Children of Light. Therefore, give him a place among us as a friend, for it is with us that his heart now resides.”

 4 Lazarus scowled a bit and was still hesitant, but he did as Yeshua bade. And Kudar-Iluna sat and listened for the entire night, but spoke not a word.

 5 There was a bit of an awkward silence after Kudar-Iluna sat down, but then Lazarus inquired of Yeshua and Yochanan if they would speak more about their lives of which he had heard somewhat when he was in Gimron with them.

 6 Yochanan nodded in agreement, saying, “Ours is a strange story, for many things have happened to us and to our parents, which are not usual in occurrence. When we were in Gimron, in our youth, we spoke of these things often and prayed mightily to God, trying to understand who we were and why God had put us on the Earth. The circumstances of both of our births were very unusual, and therefore, we knew from an early age that Elohim had a great purpose for our lives.”

 7 Then Yeshua and Yochanan related to Lazarus and Kudar-Iluna some of the events of their births and of their early lives, and Lazarus came to believe that they certainly must be chosen of God for holy purposes.

 8 And Lazarus asked, “Who is it then that you are? And why are you here?”

 9 Yochanan answered, saying, “I do not yet know in completeness who I am for the purposes of the Almighty, because I do not fully comprehend all God has shown unto me. But Elohim has given me many dreams to know that Yeshua is the chosen vessel upon the Earth, who brings a lamp that will light all the world.

 10 In humility, from all I know and feel, I say unto this small circle of family and a special friend that Yeshua is the Son come among men.”

 11 Lazarus raised one eyebrow and seemed somewhat perplexed by the words Yochanan had spoken, and he asked, “When you say Yeshua is the Son, do you mean the Sun in the sky or the prophet of Elohim or something different?”

 12 Before Yochanan could answer, Yeshua said, “It is Yochanan who is the prophet of Elohim, for both my Father and Mother in Heaven has shown this unto me many times and has spoken this truth into my ears. Yochanan also knows this is true, but he is too humble to say it until the time of his calling is to be fulfilled. But verily, I say unto you Yochanan shall grow into such a prophet as the world has never seen.”

 13 Yochanan seemed humbled by Yeshua’s words and added, “I will do as Elohim directs. They do speak to me also in visions and in words in my mind, and I continually seek to know and fulfill their will. I know not what shall become of me in the future, but I know that today, they would have me walk with Yeshua and tomorrow. And until the end of my days, I will proclaim him.

 14 As to Yeshua, I have seen with my own eyes miracles that he has done that no man or even any prophet of God that has ever lived could do. Though I would be stoned as a blasphemer among the men of Jerusalem, to you I must speak my truth; and my heart says only the living Son of the living God could do such wonders.

 15 The priests of Jerusalem, and even of Gimron, say that God has no body, that God is neither male nor female, and therefore, there can be no son of God. This is what I have been taught all of my life.

 16 Yet I have also known Yeshua all of my life; he is like us, but then again so unlike us, there is nothing even to compare.

 17 And despite all that men say of God, there is a voice that speaks in my mind and a feeling that warms my heart; and in my mind’s eye, I see God the Father and God the Mother, standing before me as they speak of Yeshua.

 18 Though he also is humble and desires not the recognition, I know he is who I have said he is. Thereby, I know that God is not an emptiness of form but as tangible as you and me, and that by the Father and the Mother has come the Son.”

 19 Lazarus was fascinated by the words which he heard and bade Yochanan to tell him more. Yochanan looked to Yeshua and an unspoken understanding passed between them, and Yochanan said, “We will tell you many things Lazarus, but you and Kudar-Iluna must speak of them to no one outside of this circle until the time of our purposes on Earth have been fulfilled.” And to this, Lazarus and Kudar-Iluna readily agreed.

 20 Then Yochanan recounted some of the miracles of Yeshua, which he had witnessed; he had seen the living plants of Earth come to life as he passed over them, and he had seen Tobiah, who was dead, return to life at his touch.

 21 He had spent more time with Yeshua than any man, and he had one great testimony of him.

 22 And Yochanan said, “Though his miracles are mighty, beyond the miracles of the greatest of the prophets, there are other things about him, which testify he is unlike any other man.

 23 There is a great goodness and kindness in Yeshua and virtue beyond the most righteous. When he is a part of us, we are inspired to do more with our lives.”

 24 And Lazarus and Kudar-Iluna nodded silently in agreement.

 25 Yochanan spoke more unto them, saying, “There is another aspect of Yeshua, which testifies to me that he is of a divine nature greater than all others despite his mortal tabernacle, and that is this: he is like a sponge that remembers all things, and there is not one thing which he has ever heard or one thing which he has ever read or one thing which he has ever seen, which he does not remember with perfect clarity and exactness.”

 26 Hearing this, Lazarus was astounded. And Kudar-Iluna was so startled he almost broke his vow of silence.

 27 Miriam also testified to some of the miracles she had been witness to as the wife of Yeshua, which no other person had ever seen, and she also bore witness that Yeshua remembered all things and that there was not even one thing which he forgot or which he wished to remember.

 28 Lazarus asked his sister to tell of more of the miracles she had seen, but she refused and said unto him, “Perhaps, someday, when it is needed, I shall tell them all, but for now I think the truths Yeshua teaches by his words and his precepts are the most glorious miracle.

 29 That Yeshua raised a dead man is good for the previously deceased, but what has it to do with our eternal salvation? Yet if we hear his words and follow them, they change our lives; they are the real treasure of Yeshua, and they have eternal significance upon our souls.”

 30 Lazarus was unhappy with the words of his sister and said, “Great words are said by many, but miracles are not often seen among men. Therefore, such evidence lends belief that Yeshua might be more than a man.”

 31 Miriam answered him, “A faith built on seeing or knowing of miracles is like standing on wet sand at the beach, and the waves come in and the ground that seemed so sound washes away beneath your feet.

 32 It is easy to believe in Yeshua when you see and know of his miracles, for they are mighty. But what of the day when he leaves this world and his miracles become only stories handed down from generation to generation?

 33 If a person’s faith has been forged from miracles alone, when the persecutions of the world come, they will wash away the foundations of the faith, for it has no depth. Only when faith is founded upon the everlasting principles of light that have been revealed by Yeshua, can it stand firm against all that the world may bring.”

 34 Miriam’s words deeply affected Lazarus, touching his spirit. As he continued to ponder all he had heard and felt in his heart, he asked, “It would seem that Yeshua could be as Yochanan attests, the Son of Elohim that has come to Earth in the flesh, but to what end? And is this not the same teaching as the false beliefs of the Egyptians and the Greeks? How will the Children of Israel ever accept such a thing to be true, even with the miracles you speak of which Yeshua has done?”

 35 Yeshua answered Lazarus, saying, “Though the Children of Israel rebuke the beliefs of the Egyptians and the Greeks, verily, parts of the religions and myths of the Egyptians were given to them by inspiration from Elohim to prepare the hearts and minds of the children of men to accept the fullness that God would yet reveal.

 36 When you see the Son come to Earth, it is not from the Egyptians or the Greeks, but from the Elohim of the Celestine Light; the beliefs of these religions were merely the heralds of the greater truth that was coming, preparing the hearts and minds of the children of men to be ready to receive it.

 37 Now, my brothers, I am humbled by the kind words that have been spoken, but I do not wish for you to say to anyone that I am the Son of Elohim, any more than we are all sons of God.

 38 Yochanan and Miriam speak highly of me and I am honored, but I am still pondering upon the fullness of who I am and why I am here.

 39 I know that Elohim is a Father and a Mother, and that they are two glorified personages, not just one. Nor is God merely a force of the universe, for I have spoken with my Heavenly Father and Mother face-to-face; and the light that radiates from them is as bright as the Sun at noonday, burning within reach.

 40 That I might see this light, which no mortal eyes could withstand, my body changed for that moment to a body more divine by far, and I caught a glimpse of the magnitude of Elohim.

 41 I know that Elohim works mighty miracles through me. I feel a oneness with all life and feel a part of all things; each day that passes, the feeling grows stronger. I have come to understand that others do not have this feeling, even my beloved Miriam and my brother Yochanan.

 42 I speak to my Father and Mother in Heaven every day and hear their voice with my ears as if they were standing next to me.

 43 And I know with a surety that whatsoever I should ask of them, they would do.

 44 By them I am called Son, and it resonates deep in my heart.

 45 They have told me that I lived with them before the world was, and I remember all the things of which they relate.

 46 Yet it is presumptuous to speak as we have spoken: to say that I am the very Son of God. I do not have the desire to speak it, nor do I wish others to, for I am still seeking to fully understand all that I have learned.

 47 So too, there is knowledge of the true nature of all things and the full knowledge of what is to be. But my Father waits to reveal these things to me when I am more prepared to receive them.

 48 But I say unto you that every day, our Father and Mother in Heaven do speak to me; they bestow marvelous understandings upon me, and through these revelations, I know they desire me to be perfect, which is a hard thing to be, for I am as tempted as is any man by the allures of the world and to squander the precious hours of life.

 49 They have commanded me to teach by both precept and example, to show my brothers and sisters of spirit by my life and teachings, how they can become better than they are, eternally progressing until they are without sin, even as our parents in Heaven are perfect.

 50 And there is something more, but unknown, which I know I must do, but of that mystery, they will not speak, for they say it is not the time for me to know. When that time comes and I am one with all that I am and understand all that I must do and the world has witnessed it, then Elohim would have you speak the fullness of the truth, whatever that may be.

 51 There are many other things of which my Father and Mother in Heaven have spoken to me that I tell only to Miriam. And you must understand that everything I know of my life and purpose and the teachings of our Father and Mother in Heaven, she also knows, and even as Yochanan and I walk paths that intertwine, Miriam and I walk a path of one, and we are one.”
